COVID-19 Updates

We know you have a lot of questions about COVID-19. We will continue to work through the crisis. However, please note that some things about are operations have changed. We will keep this page updated with current information.

Are you currently open during normal business hours?

We continue to work from home. We do a lot of our work sitting behind a desk. And we can do that anywhere.

Our physical office on Thomas Avenue is closed. Please do not come to our office.

How do I schedule an initial consultation?

If you want to schedule an initial consultation, we have three options. First, you can do it online at online booking. We offer a 10% discount to people who use our online scheduling system. Second, you can fill out Contact Us box on the left and we will call you to schedule the consult. Third, you can call our main number (214) 528-6500 and get our answering service. When you leave your contact information, you’ll get a call back to schedule a consultation. Please note, with high call volume you may have to wait 30 seconds or longer for someone to pick up.

Do you offer video chat?

Yes. We’re using Skype, free videoconference software for your computer. Instructions for using Skype are in your appointment confirmation email.

Are you accepting new clients?

Yes.

How can I get updates regarding the status of my case or legal matter?

If you’re an existing client, email the attorney you are working with or call (214) 528-6500 and leave a message. Your messages are then emailed to the recipient.

Are courts of law still open in my area? Will my court date be rescheduled? What if I can’t come to court because I’m sick or quarantined?

Basically everything is closed. This includes not only courts but government agencies like the EEOC, DOL, and OSHA. As attorneys we can still file electronically to meet statutory deadlines.

If you’re sick stay home. Please obey the stay-at-home order for Dallas and other counties. Everyone is making accommodations for the current crisis. Please let us know right away if you believe you may not be able to make a scheduled meeting.

Will scheduled depositions, mediation, arbitration, or settlement negotiations occur as planned?

Maybe, but by in large these things are being rescheduled. We’ve done some remote mediations and have some telephone depositions set. If you’re a client and you have concerns contact your attorney.

  • Employer retaliation related to actions an employee takes, including complaints and whistleblowing, related to COVID-19
  • Safety violations at work and OSHA violations, especially those in the healthcare industry
  • Workers’ compensation, including retaliation for filing for workers’ comp
